چکیده

We present new results based on high-resolution observations of Sgr A West at the Galactic center with the Very Large Array (VLA) at 1.3 cm. By combining recent observations with those made at earlier epochs with the VLA at wavelengths of 1.3 and 3.6 cm, we measured proper motions for 71 compact HII components in the central 80 (3 pc, assuming D = 8 pc). Using VLA archival data for the H92α radio recombination line, we also investigated radial velocities in the LSR velocity range from +200 to –415 km s. Combining proper motion and radial velocity measurements, we have determined the three-dimensional velocity distribution in Sgr A West. We find that the three ionized streams (Northern Arm, Eastern Arm, and Western Arc) in the central 3 pc can be modeled with three bundles of Keplerian orbits around Sgr A*. Assuming that each

Proper Motions of Ionized Gas at the Galactic Center : Evidence for Unbound Orbiting Gas

We present radio continuum observations of the spiral-shaped ionized feature (Sgr A West) within the inner pc of the Galactic center at three epochs spanning 1986 to 1995. The VLA A-configuration was used at λ2cm (resolution of 0. ′′ 1×0. ′′ 2). We detect proper motions of a number of features in the Northern and Eastern Arms of Sgr A West including the ionized gas associated with IRS 13 with V...

A VLA H92α Recombination Line Study of the Arched Filament H II Complex Near the Galactic Center

The Very Large Array has been used at 8.3 GHz in the DnC and CnB array configurations to carry out an H92α recombination line study (at 8.3 GHz) of the ionized gas in the Arched Filaments H II complex, which defines the western edge of the Galactic center Radio Arc. The Arched Filaments consist of a series of curved filamentary ridges which extend over 9×6 (22 × 16 pc) and are intersected in tw...

Dense Ionized and Neutral Gas Surrounding Sgr A

We present high resolution H41 hydrogen recombination line observations of the 1 2 (3 pc) region surrounding Sagittarius A (Sgr A ) at 92 GHz using the Millimeter Array at the Owens Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO) with an angular resolution of 7 3 and velocity resolution of 13 km s−1. New observations of H31 , H35 , H41 and H44 lines were obtained using the NRAO 12-m telescope, and their relati...

The Molecular Component of the Galactic Center Arched Filament H II Complex: OVRO Observations of the CS(J=2−1) Line

The Owens Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO) millimeter array was used to make observations of the CS(2-1) line (at 97.981 GHz) arising from the G0.07+0.04 region of the “−30 km s−1” molecular cloud near the Galactic center with a spatial resolution of ∼8. The ionized edges of this cloud forms the Arched Filament HII regions which are ionized by the adjacent hes stellar cluster. The OVRO data were...
